Description
The Human Resources Manager as a member of our dynamic and experienced HR Team, the Human Resources Manager will work onsite at one of our manufacturing plant locations and be responsible for overseeing all human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, payroll, coaching, training, performance management, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR management within a manufacturing environment and possess excellent leadership and communication skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
In partnership, and collaboration with our HR Team and plant operations:
- Recruitment and Staffing: Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, interviewing, and onboarding of new employee owners. Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions and consistently follow Company processes and best practices.
- Employee Relations: Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee owner concerns, resolving conflicts in a positive and proactive manner, and promoting open communication. Conduct investigations and provide guidance on disciplinary actions
- Payroll Management: Ensure accurate and timely weekly payroll processing & reporting for local non-exempt employees in accordance with Company policies.
- Performance Management: Manage and oversee performance appraisal systems. Provide coaching and support to managers and employee owners to enhance performance and development. Facilitate performance improvement, disciplinary actions and termination process if required.
- Training and Development: Identify training needs and coordinate employee owner and management development programs. Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements.
- Compliance and HR Systems: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records/data.
- Compensation and Benefits: Administer, coordinate and communicate Company compensation and benefits programs including leave management and Workers Compensation.
- Health and Safety: Collaborate with the safety team to promote a safe working environment. Participate in safety, training and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
- HR Policies and Procedures: Manage, implement, and communicate updated HR policies and procedures. Communicate policies to employees and ensure consistent application.
- Employee Owner Engagement: Plan and execute employee engagement initiatives to boost morale and retention. Organize events and activities that promote a positive workplace culture.
- Confidentiality: Maintain a high degree of integrity and sensitivity
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Knowledge and understanding of all local/state/federal laws required for assigned states/locations.
- Bilingual (Spanish and English) required.
- PHR/SPHR SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- 5+ years of proven experience as a Human Resources Manager, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Hands on experience, with demonstrated capability across various HR fundamentals including recruitment and selection, employee relations, employee engagement, and team building, in a manufacturing or agribusiness environment
- Ability to work collaboratively at all levels of the organization
- Process oriented with a quality mindset

- Demonstrated ability to accurately write procedures, policies, documentation, reports
- Must be able to comfortably present information in front of large groups and communicate effectively to all levels of the organization

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and respectfully navigate complex and sensitive issues
- High level of proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and HRIS/payroll processing
- Strong organizational skills; with attention to detail and follow-through
