About Our Client: Our client, a respected organization based in Philadelphia. They are seeking a seasoned HR professional to oversee their Human Resources department, handling everything from recruitment to employee relations and benefits management.
Job Description: The Human Resources Manager will lead HR operations, focusing on recruitment, employee relations, and benefits. The role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of employment laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, and other relevant employment laws.
- Navigate new regulatory environments, especially if unfamiliar with Pennsylvania's human services sector.
- Address employee complaints and conduct internal investigations.
- Drive change management initiatives, including developing internal metrics and fostering a positive workforce culture through policy and incentive programs.
- Manage unemployment compensation claims and represent the organization at hearings.
- Oversee talent management functions, including compensation, job descriptions, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure consistent policy application and disciplinary actions, providing support and guidance to supervisors.
- Support a diverse workforce and manage communications and conflict resolution effectively.
- Develop or implement DEI initiatives as needed.
- Provide cross-training on HR functions and lead a HR team with coaching and guidance.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an HR Leadership with at least 2 years focused on labor law compliance.
- Unionized employee experience.
- Public Health or Nonprofit experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ADP, with the ability to learn new software.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Public speaking experience for training purposes.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to independently research information.
- Must be available to work full-time in person.
