HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
Manages all key HR functions in support of the entire facility, to include the full recruitment process, onboarding, training, employee relations, salary administration, and performance management. Manages NJ HR Generalist and HR associate.

Experience:
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in HR or equivalent work experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Bilingual a plus.

Essential Responsibilities and Accountability:
- Manages recruitment process, and all related activities, to include ad placement, applicant tracking, applicant screening, interview scheduling, and background check process
- Manages the “on-premise” staffing agency programs and all other agencies used, facilitating all needs to match operational demands, to include candidate selection, employee relations issues, onboarding schedules, and terminations
- Responsible for obtaining and tracking weekly invoices from agencies, and working with cost accounting to provide all necessary reporting
- Works with managers to identify quality candidates, assisting in the interview process, providing the necessary coaching and feedback for candidate selection
- Responsible for ensuring the use of all recruitment competency testing for direct hires, as well as contract associates
- Working with Corporate HR, directs the development of job descriptions for all new positions, as well as the revision of existing job descriptions as necessary
- Researches new recruitment avenues, advertisement sources and tools, such as employee referral reward programs necessary to meet recruiting needs for NJ
- In conjunction with Corporate HR and current practices, as well as internal equity, recommends total compensation package to management for new hires, extending formal job offers to candidates
- Supports the Safety department in identifying safety risks, as well as incidents and develops the action plans to address such matters
- Delivers and/or oversees new hire orientation, GMP and safety training, and other training programs and processes for all key departments at the plant
- Ensures the delivery of training programs through various methods- such as individual training, group instruction, self-study, and computer based training
- Responsible for ensuring the use of on the job training (OJT) programs to be performed by operations supervisors or leads
- Collaborates with Corporate HR to ensure delivery of annual training programs, to include collaboration with Quality Assurance, and Health & Safety managers
- Develops or reviews and approves drafts of any and all documentation related to employee relations matters, and participates in all meetings with employees and their manager, above the level of a verbal warning
- Ensures the maintenance of all personnel records and reports to meet compliance regulations, and ensure smooth audits
- Working with VP HR, oversees performance management and career development process for all operations staff. Responsible for administering and overseeing all employee competency testing
- Works with operations department managers to analyze status of employee performance (15-30-45-60 day reviews, as well as annual reviews) oversees training results, evaluates and recommends next steps
- Functions as primary open door advocate to employees on employment related issues
- Manages the employee relations process, to include investigation of employee complaints and disputes, recommends and implements disciplinary action based on policies, and past practices, to include evaluation and assessment of leads, supervisors and shift managers. Escalates more complicated matters to VP of Human Resources.
- Develops or reviews and approves drafts of any and all documentation related to employee relations matters, and participates in all meetings with employees and their manager above the level of a verbal warning
- Coordinates the translation and interpretation of documents and/or program materials through NJ HR Generalist or Corporate HR
- Creates monthly headcount reports for Finance for all agency staff
- Attends company scheduled meetings when applicable (i.e., safety meetings, production meetings, department meetings.).
- Informs supervision of any problems or complications that may arise
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required
In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for:
- Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
- Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments. Must follow all Company Safety policies, as well as all GMP regulations and all lock-out/tag-out requirements according to OSHA requirements.
- As part of your supervisory responsibility and as a back-up, supervisors must be able to do your work in ways that ensure safe food. You must also be aware of issues associated with food safety and safe food handling practices that are relevant to your job. Formal training is not required, but in house Food Safety Training conducted by a qualified staff member is mandatory. You must know how to recognize, prevent and alleviate food safety hazards. This position requires good working knowledge of the SQF code
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR Generalist, with a focus on employee relations and recruiting. Must have manufacturing experience, food industry preferred. Proven skills as a facilitator of the recruitment process, experience tracking KPI’s and working with contracted staffing.
