The Straz Center for the Performing Arts, located along the beautiful Riverwalk in downtown Tampa, Florida, is one of the largest performing arts centers in the southeastern United States. Reporting to the VP of Administration, the Human Resources (HR) Manager is responsible for managing the Center's HR programs and policies related to employee relations, compensation, benefits, safety, performance, professional development, training, and staffing levels. This role involves managing, designing, planning, and implementing programs and policies that support the Center's strategic goals. The role promotes the Center culture and ethics, ensuring they are reflected in policies and daily operations.
Essential Functions:
- Recruitment and Staffing: Responsible for attracting, hiring, and retaining talent. This includes creating job postings, conducting interviews, and onboarding new employees.
- Employee Relations: Manage relationships between employees and the organization, addressing grievances, resolving conflicts, and ensuring a positive work environment.
- Training and Development: Oversee employee training programs to enhance skills and career development, ensuring that the workforce remains competent and competitive.
- Compensation and Benefits: Assist with managing compensation structures, including salaries, bonuses, and benefits packages, to ensure they are competitive and fair.
- Compliance and Legal: Ensure that the organization complies with labor laws and regulations, handling issues related to workplace safety, discrimination, and other legal matters.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position has supervisory responsibility for the HRIS/Payroll Specialist, Human Resources Generalists and will supervise any volunteers, interns or temporary staff as needed to complete special projects as assigned by the VP of Administration.
Education, Work Experience, Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, required.
- Minimum of 5 years related experience in HR operations or a similar role, with a track record of increasing responsibility.
- SHRM Certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HR systems, processes, and compliance requirements.
- Previous experience with HRIS systems such as Dayforce/Ceridian, Workday, Applicant tracking recruiting system and other HR related software.
- Excellent leadership and collaboration skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- High proficiency level across the Microsoft Office software suite.

Travel:
- Limited travel is expected for this position. May be required to travel to conferences or meetings with vendors on a limited basis.
