The Acme Co Fabricators is looking for their next Human Resources Manager to help lead this established company in a new direction.
This is a unique role in that it is very hands on with many recruiting, payroll and benefit challenges on a daily basis. The work is mostly at the day to day level, with some strategic HR functions. There is lots to do organizationally and culturally.
We are a mid size manufacturing facility (80~120 people), with multiple locations. You will be part of a team of leaders working to professionalize, modernize and improve management controls of this very successful business.
You should be a hands on, energetic person. Open minded, creative and willing to push traditional roles of HR into general management roles. This role requires a fresh set of eyes to help us get to the next level.
This is a hands on, in person role at the plant. While there can be some flexibility, plan on being in the office 5 days a week.

We would like to see you have some HR experience. A comfort in payroll, basic shop scheduling, recruiting manufacturing trades and general management. Know computers and software and be really comfortable with them.
Job Purpose:
Maintains and enhances the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
Duties:
* Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
* Maintains organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes.
* Maintains organization payroll and reporting to Chicago based ownership group.
* Maintains a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.
* Manages and directs all recruiting, including outside recruiting agencies relationships.
* Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.
* Maintains employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.
* Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings.
* Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
* Maintains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records.
* Completes human resource operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
* Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
* Maintains staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
