Housing & Food Services (HFS) supports over 10,000 student residents and operates 40+ dining locations on campus. With a team of over 1,200 staff and students, HFS is dedicated to enhancing student life through teamwork and excellent service.

**POSITION PURPOSE**
By practicing effective and equitable recruiting and hiring practices for classified, professional and student staff positions, this position supports the Department's mission of serving students, staff, faculty, and University guests.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** Recruiting and Hiring:
+ Maintain currency on the local and regional job markets, compensation, including the latest classified and professional staff surveys.
+ Develop recruitment strategies that address the conditions of the job market.
+ Collaborate with managers on comprehensive recruiting plans while applying equity and inclusion lens to recruitments including helping hiring managers illuminate bias.
+ Review recruitment materials required for entry into Workday and UW Hires for compliance with EEO and HFS expectations for equity and inclusion.
+ Support the interview process by writing interview questions, ensuring consistency, equity, and compliance with UW and HFS requirements and expectations.
+ Network with local community groups and interest groups to maintain interest in HFS as an employer of choice.
+ Attend job fairs and hiring events.
+ Create and update position descriptions and organization charts
+ Ensure there is complete recruiting, marketing, and interviewing plan for each open position.
+ Post openings in UW system, HFS websites and other sites per recruitment plan.
+ Monitor and evaluate the quality and availability of applicants throughout the recruitment process
+ Screen and interview candidates as requested.
+ Track recruiting plan deliverables and refer/discuss potential delays with the hiring lead and the Assistant Director for Human Resources.
+ Participate in weekly status meetings with UW Dining administration
+ Provide consultation and just-in-time training to hiring managers and search committees on equitable hiring practices, equal opportunity, and the interview assessment rubric.
+ Coordinate the reference check process for compliance with UW policy.
+ Review job descriptions for each posting and advise managers on potentiasl compensation and classification issues during the planning stage of recruitment
+ Maintain data to track the efficiency and effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation, including follow-up with hiring managers.
+ Develop relationships with key vendors/contractors for temporary employment support.Student Employment:
+ Serve as day-to-day expert providing informal and formal first tier advice and guidance to staff, students, directors and administrators regarding UW human resources policies and procedures.
+ Develop and maintain relationships with campus partners to aid in student employment success including but not limited to: Work Study Office, International Student Services Office, Career & Internships Center, and Integrated Service Center.
+ Hire, supervise, manage performance, and task delegation for three student HR assistants that support the student employment program.
+ Support hiring managers in the effective use of application, hiring and onboarding systems
+ Manage complex technical systems from application through onboarding.
+ Proactively forecast student employing hiring needs and collaboratively strategize with unit leaders to support student employment hiring needs.
+ Oversee reassignment and promotion of student employees to ensure compliance with HFS policies and regulations.
+ Oversee student hiring and onboarding processes to ensure compliance with I-9 and vaccine verification and background checks
+ Process employment documentation for international students seeking Social Security Numbers.
+ Develop and maintain relationships with campus partners to aid in student employment success including but not limited to: Work Study Office, International Student Services Office, Career & Internships Center, and Integrated Service Center.
+ Consult with HFS units to develop and implement marketing strategies for student recruitment.
+ Maintain internal application system, job postings, and delegating work of marketing platformsLeadership and Development:
+ Lead by Identifying and recommending process improvements regarding the HFS HR process, quality control, and SharePoint system.
+ Provide training and backup to the HR Assistant on Workday and Workbench set ups and entries.
+ Empower managers to engage actively in their recruitments. Candidates on the Workbench and dispositioning them.
+ Participate in internal and cross-functional teams.
+ Participate in informal and formal learning opportunities and events.
+ Perform related duties as assigned **IMPACT TO THE UNIVERSITY** This position provides the essential recruitment support for Housing & Food Services. Having a full--staffed department ensures that student residents have access to well-maintained facilities and convenient dining options and that University staff, faculty and off-campus students will experience convenience and efficient service at retail dining locations. **POSITION COMPLEXITIES** This position is responsible for maintaining currency in the job market for approximately 40 different job classifications, including professional, classified and contract staff. These positions vary widely from entry-level food service employees to residential education specialists. HFS employs over 1,000 students each academic year. This position oversees the student employment program to support HFS operations. **WORKING CONDITIONS** Position works weekday office hours with occasional evening and/or weekends to participate in special events. Work is time sensitive and requires maintaining focus while expediting high-quality work products. **REPORTS TO** Human Resources Manager for Recruitment **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
+ Bachelor's degree in education, human resources or other related field and two years of experience in human resources, student affairs or a related field that includes one year of successful experience working in recruiting and/or a related area of human resources. _Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration._ **CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT** A satisfactory outcome from the employment reference check processes and education verification. **Application Process:** The application process may include completion of a variety of online assessments to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process.
