Midwest Veterinary Supply is seeking a Human Resources Specialist for our Norristown, Pennsylvania warehouse
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for performing a broad range of human resources-related duties for assigned warehouse operations and will work closely with other members of the HR department in support of the business operational needs of the organization.
Essential Job Functions:
- Counsel management and employees on issues including (but not limited to) performance management, performance improvement plans, policy and procedure questions, attendance, and conflict management. Provides performance coaching, management training, counseling, and disciplinary strategies.
- Manages full cycle recruiting process: job postings, sourcing candidates, conducting phone interviews, background checks, drug screens, and lead new hire orientation.
- Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with employees that inspire trust, confidence, and respect. Work in partnership with leaders, management, and HR colleagues to shape, develop and deliver HR plans and solutions in line with the needs and priorities of the company.
- The ability to onboard, coach, and train employees in the warehouse to ensure performance standards are being met.
- Certify compliance with all applicable state law, federal law, and HR related legislation, such as employment, benefits, and safety (ADA, FMLA, COBRA, HIPPA, EEO, OSHA, etc.)
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- Must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required
- An associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related area is preferred
- Three years related experience is preferred
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals
- Proficiency in using a variety of computer applications to include Microsoft Office and ADP Workforce Now
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
- Effective interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication, listening, coaching, delegation, and conflict management and resolution
- Ability to make critical decisions and take decisive action in a timely manner
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Strong organizational skills, project management skills, and the ability to multitask
- Must be self motivated and able to work independently
- The ability to effectively work with others throughout the organization

- Frequent deadlines must be met requiring a fast pace of work and stress

Work Environment:
Work is typically performed in an office environment Monday through Friday and may require work beyond normal business hours.
