Position Summary:The People Ambassador role is critical in partnering with the business to develop and execute our people initiatives.
Essential Responsibilities:The successful incumbent will:
- Lead the new employee orientation and onboarding process, ensuring support for managers and employees as part of the new hire process. This role will have the unique responsibility to be the HR Business Partner to support early career and internship program.
- Champion the Rewards & Recognition initiative at the site to ensure employees feel appreciated and valued.
- Coordinate, implement, and drive the hiring process by working closely with hiring managers to ascertain departmental needs, level new positions, draft and post job descriptions, source and screen candidates, identify qualified applicants, schedule interviews, draft and extend job offers to candidates, and close successful candidates by driving the completion of applicable pre-employment testing and background checks, including assessing the results thereof.
- Partner with EHS and compliance to proactively address improvements to our safety culture and assists with managing and monitoring Workers Compensation claims.
- Manage the leave of absence process: guiding employees on how to file a claim to receive company and state benefits during the leave period; document, certify and approve leaves of absence; partner with managers to plan for employees’ leave and return to work; liaise between ITT’s benefits administrator, Payroll, and employees during the employees’ leaves of absence.
- Conduct thorough and objective investigations into employee complaints or concerns, as needed. Make recommendations on appropriate course of action for resolution. Drafts comprehensive reports on investigation findings and outcome/resolution and any other documentation resulting from the investigation, as needed. Escalate more complex, sensitive, or business-critical cases to the HR Business Partner.
- Execute assigned projects, as needed, including, but not limited to, merit reviews, Workday audits, and compliance training.
- Consult with managers regarding personnel related issues, including administering coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans, as needed.
- Draft and communicate engaging organizational announcements that provide employees with useful updates on HR services and business information.
- Manage exit interview process, stay interview process, and skip levels across the site; identify opportunities and areas of concerns requiring follow-up.
- Make recommendations on HR process improvements and executes those improvements, as needed.
- Counsels employees on correct interpretation and application of company programs, policies, and processes; responds to related inquiries and concerns.
- Maintain HR files and records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy of all employee information.
- Lead employee engagement initiatives and prepare organizational communications for the site.
- 2 – 5+ years of increasing Human Resources experience, preferably in mid to large size manufacturing organizations.
- Customer-focused, proactive, positive, and driven to achieve departmental and corporate goals in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong consultative skills and ability to partner with managers/professionals to understand needs and deliver solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
- Experience in an array of areas: recruiting, employee development, employee relations, training, compensation, benefits, and performance management.
- Track record of investigating and resolving employee relations issues.
- Knowledge of employment laws including Federal and California Leave Laws
