This Position:
Performs human resources-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Manager of Human Resources & Training and HR team in supporting assigned responsibilities. This position carries out either primary or alternate responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruitment/employment, benefits administration, payroll, employee relations, compliance training, records and office management, onboarding, policy implementation, affirmative action, employment law compliance, employee recognition, learning management systems (LMS) training, and wellness. This is an on-site position.
HR & Training Generalist Minimum Requirements:
This position requires candidates to have:
· High School diploma or equivalent and at least 7 years human resources or payroll experience; or Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a directly related field and at least 5 years human resources or payroll experience.
· Knowledge of employment law, compensation, recruitment, and training.
· Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
· HR certification is a plus. (Must be able to attain either a PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP within 18 months of being selected for position.)
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning tools.
· Experience in LMS administration and training is highly desirable.
· Must meet criteria to obtain access credentials for the U.S. government installations included in the Eglin AFB Utility Privatization contract.
· Must be available to perform duties for emergency response and storm restoration and be available for non-standard hours work.
Position Duties:
The HR & Training Generalist performs the following duties (not all-inclusive):
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local HR laws and regulations
- Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefit plan information to employees
- Ensure accuracy of payroll data and benefits administration
- Configures and maintains human resource information system and learning management system records. Includes, but not limited to, ensuring accurate data entry; compiling reports from the respective databases; and troubleshooting end-user issues
- Provide oversight of the learning management systems (LMS) including, course assignment process, which involves uploading new courses, editing existing courses, and assigning courses based on position, timing or certification requirements
- Coordinate employee onboarding and orientation programs
- Coordinates and/or designs and conducts most Cooperative safety and compliance training
- Conducts recruitment efforts for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, and temporary employees
- Explains human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations
- Processes weekly payroll
