Job Details
Summary: As a Controls Technician you will support customers by programming temperature control systems based on project specifications. Using your expertise in the commercial HVAC industry, you will perform installation, warranty, emergency, and maintenance service on installed systems.
Responsibilities
- Works with customers on diagnostics and repair of complex system malfunctions requiring knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems.
- Tests system software in multiple programming languages.
- Communicates with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Assists the customer to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Meets regularly with the customer to become familiar with operating problems.
- Keeps customer informed on the nature of service provided and outstanding issues.
- Compiles assigned job documentation, such as CAAD drawings, preventative maintenance documentation, service tickets and punch lists.
- Participates in training classes as assigned and conducts extensive self-study (reading, research, and practice) to develop technical proficiency in company's product lines.
- Completes certifications and develops technical proficiencies as required by the company.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years DDC/BAS control system start-up, checkout, and service experience
- Expereince working on units up 20 tons
- Knowledge of HVAC, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management, fire alarm & smoke removal systems, engineering, installation, and construction procedures
- Expereince on systems including: Reliable Controls, Delta, Carrier Comfort, Niagara Tridium, Trane, Honeywell, Automated logic, Etc
Working Conditions
Environment:
- Alcohol and Drug-free
- Inside and outside work environments
- Routine sitting, lifting, bending, and kneeling
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. from floor to countertop and countertop to floor
- Ability to climb ladders and perform job duties at required heights
