We have an exciting opportunity for an HVAC Designer! Gpac, a 30+ year-old recruitment company, is partnered with a well-established company in the Mechanical industry.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing HVAC systems for a variety of commercial projects. They will work closely with engineering and project management teams to ensure systems are designed according to client specifications, building codes, and energy efficiency standards. The HVAC Designer will also support the development of design documents, plans, and specifications, ensuring high-quality and effective solutions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficient in designing HVAC systems including ductwork, piping, and equipment layouts.
- Develop and produce detailed HVAC drawings using CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of local and national HVAC codes and regulations.
- Ability to perform load calculations, equipment selection, and energy modeling.
- Create and update design documents, including mechanical plans, specifications, and schematics.
- Work with project managers and engineers to develop project scopes and schedules.
- Conduct site visits and surveys to ensure design compatibility.
- Review and approve shop drawings and submittals.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of experience in HVAC design, with a focus on commercial projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other HVAC design software.
- Knowledge of HVAC design principles, including heating and cooling load calculations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred, but not required.
