Your New Role: HVAC Field Manager
In this role, you’re not just a manager; you’re a mentor, a coach, and a results-driven leader. You’ll be responsible for creating and fostering the Bert Black Culture, ensuring every technician not only meets but exceeds our performance metrics. - Mentor and guide technicians weekly, helping them crush their performance goals and uphold the highest service standards.
- Keep our trucks running clean and tight by completing inspections and audits, ensuring everything from paperwork to service checklists is on point.
- Lead the charge on inventory management, keeping our parts and supplies in check so our techs have what they need when they need it.
- Support and troubleshoot alongside your team in the field—yes, you’ll be getting your hands dirty when needed.
- Own department performance metrics (think: average invoice totals, callback ratios, labor margins) and push the envelope toward success.
- Handle the hiring process for team leads, techs, and apprentices—because a great leader knows talent when they see it.
- Investigate safety concerns, resolve issues with tools or vehicles, and ensure compliance with our top-tier standards.

- High School diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of four years of experience (preferred) in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and correcting diverse service issues.
- Valid driver's license and approval to drive by the Company’s insurance carrier.
- Strong organization skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.
- Proficient in customer service, able to exceed expectations.
- Comfortable leading and coaching a team to achieve positive outcomes.
- Experience using a computer tablet, smartphone, and GPS systems.
- Willing to work flexible hours and provide support to the team as needed, even outside normal work schedules.
