HVAC/ General Maintenance - Facilities - Full Time - Afternoons - ProMedica Flower Hospital (FH)

About the Job
Position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all HVAC Systems and associated equipment located throughout the hospital campus.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Maintains all air handling equipment, air filtering systems and associated equipment as it relates to HVAC field.
2. Maintains all compressed air systems with any HVAC systems. This includes maintaining all pneumatic controls and devices.
3. Maintains all water circulating pumps associated with HVAC systems.
4. Maintains all motors, belts, drives, associated with HVAC systems.
5. Maintains all air-cooled condensing units and associated evaporator units.
6. Monitors, diagnoses, and performs corrective maintenance related to the building automation system for all associated HVAC systems
7. Maintains and operates water chillers, cooling tower, hot water boilers and associated equipment.
8. Maintains all computer room self-contained air conditioning units including all glycol type coolers and pumps.
9. Turns in daily completed work requests and reviews schedule with immediate supervisor.
10. Responsible for organization’s compliance to rules and codes set forth by regulatory agencies, i.e., JCAHO, OSHA, NFPA, etc.
11. All other duties as assigned
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Shift Type: Day Shift Position: Must be able to work weekends and alternate shifts
Skills: Must be able to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, etc. Must have a working knowledge of electricity, fire/safety codes, and air conditioning principles. Must be knowledgeable of all types of circulating pumps and air conditioning motors. Have a working knowledge of process steam and its usage for HVAC systems, including steam valves and steams traps. Must be able to communicate well with others.
Years of Experience: 2 years’ experience
License: Must have Valid State Drivers License
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: HVAC certificate or trade school
Years of Experience: 4 years or combination of education and worked experience
Skills: Working knowledge of building automation systems
WORKING CONDITIONS
Personal Protective Equipment: Per OSHA guidelines
Physical Demands: Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations. Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills. Must be able to tolerate exposure to hazardous chemicals, dust, fumes, electrical voltage and temperature changes, and work at heights utilizing ladders and lifts at 20% of the time; and differentiate between colors. Must be able to work with tools and operate various controls and machinery. Must be able to move, lift or carry materials or equipment weighing up to 10 pounds up to 55% of the time; 20 pounds 10% of the time; and 100 pounds 5% of the time.
