We are searching for a talented HVAC Mechanic
Hours: 40hrs
Shift: Day shift, 7:00am - 3:30pm, weekends when needed, on-call rotation, off shift where needed; evening/night rotation as needed
Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA

**Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 20 hours.

Responsibilities:Under the general supervision and direction of the Manager, Facilities or designee, perform routine predictive & preventive maintenance on Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) equipment and systems throughout the facilities. Perform renovations and install new HVAC/R systems and equipment. Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning HVAC/R equipment and systems. Maintain HVAC/R inventory. Make repairs, calibrate and functionally test equipment and systems. Recommend solutions for necessary corrective action.
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Heating preferred.
- Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician License and Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certification required.
- Related experience required to demonstrate ability to operate and maintain typical HVAC and Refrigeration Equipment Systems.
- Two (2) years experience in a hospital or industrial environment with knowledge in the maintenance and repair of centrifugal chillers, energy management systems and associated equipment.
- Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician License and Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certification required.
- Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
