Job Description
The purpose of this position is to provide the essential administrative processes, technical knowledge and leadership as described below. This position has oversight of a specific area and acts as a representative of the engineering discipline ensuring technical accuracy in project execution in all phases. This is a lead position on assigned projects performing engineering assignments of advanced complexity.

Job Description

- UndergeneralsupervisionoftheDisciplineLeadEngineer,serveasanAreaLeadproviding guidance/supervision to other engineers and designers
- Analyzeandmakeindependentrecommendationsregardingtechnicalsolutionstoproblems of advanced complexity in accordance with projectrequirements
- Develop and review specifications and designcriteria
- Performandcheckengineeringanalysesandcalculations;specifymaterials,equipmentand systems; and solve technical problems of advancedcomplexity
- Coordinate technical issues with other disciplines, project management, vendors andclients
- Execute work in compliance with Project Quality Plan andprocedures
- Execute work in accordance with the approved project scope, cost and schedulebaselines
- Developandreviewestimates,schedulesandprogressreportsincludingeffort-hour estimating and staffforecasting
- Establish, control and report on material key quantities; provide analysis andforecasts
- Provide technical support to activities associated with equipment and material procurement andsubcontractingincludingscopesofwork,technicalbidevaluationsandreviewofvendor submittals
- Providetechnicalsupporttoactivitiesassociatedwithconstructionadministrationincluding response to construction requests-for-information and fieldchanges
- Other duties asassigned
- U.S. Citizenshiprequired
- BachelorofSciencedegreeinMechanicalEngineeringandminimumten(10)yearsofwork- relatedexperience
- Workingknowledgeofapplicablefederal(includingDepartmentofEnergyorders),state, and local codes andstandards
- Abilitytocommunicateeffectivelywithaudiences thatincludebutarenotlimitedtoproject management, coworkers, clients, vendors, andsubcontractors
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete thejob
- Advanced knowledge of discipline codes andstandards
- Abilitytoperformworkincompliancewithapplicablelocal,state,andfederalcodes,statutes andguidelines
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effectivemanner
- Intermediatecomputerandsoftwareskillstoincludeproficiencyintheuseofword processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentationprograms
- Significantexperienceprovidingengineering,procurementandconstruction(EPC)services on large industrialprojects
- ProficiencyexecutinglargeEPCprojectsutilizingengineeringanalysis,3Dmodelingand2D computer-aided drafting and design (CADD) automation tools in a multi-discipline environment

- Advancedengineeringknowledgeinthedesignofheating,ventilationandair-conditioning (HVAC)systems
- Development of HVAC loadcalculations
- Development of HVAC air flow diagrams and instrumentdiagrams
- Development of HVAC system sequence of operationnarratives
- Sizing and specification of air handling units and otherequipment
- HVAC main duct and distribution duct sizing androuting
- Developmentofblackutility(chiller,boiler,customAHU,aircompressorandcooling tower) specifications based upon sizing data provided byProcess
- Development of HVACspecifications
- Professional Engineerlicense
- Experiencewithdesignofsystems,structuresandcomponentsfornuclearfacilitiesunderthe requirements of ASMENQA-1
- Advanced knowledge of commercial availability and cost ofmaterials
- Demonstrated experience managing and leading largeprojects
- Proficiencywithprojectset-up,developmentofcontrol-levelschedules,progressreporting and projectclose-out
- Practical fieldexperience
- EPC project experience for the followingindustries:
- U.S Department of Energy or other U.S. Federal GovernmentAgency
- Nuclear facilities under a nuclear quality assuranceprogram
- Manufacturing, pharmaceutical orbiotechnology
