Neighbors Heating and Cooling in Ames is looking for an expereinced individual to join our team. This position is full-time with opportunities to grow with the position. Our service manager and team all work together to help technicians, help our customers to stay warm and cool depending on the season. Our support staff includes dispatchers that schedule based upon our service manager's field experience and a warehouse support staff that provides truck stock and daily parts staging.
Our technicians are all provided with iPad for ticket and timecard processing.
We are looking for a candidate that has at least 2+ years of service HVAC experience and/or is already journeyman liscensed.
We are a valid DOL liscensed training center through CEU Authority and can transfer any on-going schooling into our program with no interruption in classes or OJT's.
Unlicensed and un-apprenticed workers with experience must be elligible to begin schooling. Our company pays initial tuition fees for all eligible employees that can be paid back through the tool account and by passing schooling levels.

Experience:
Qualified candidates should have:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Journeyman HVAC license or 2+ years' experience with ability to become licensed within 2 years.
Must be able to:
- Perform thorough maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on all ages of equipment (furnace, air conditioners, boilers, heat pumps, geothermal units, mini split systems, and rooftop units)
- Accurately diagnose system issues and recognize potential breakdown issues before they happen.
- Regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds.
- Work in all conditions, including in tight spaces (crawl spaces), or be on a ladder. Work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold, and wet or humid conditions.
- Keep accurate notes and records. Properly complete all paperwork
- Keep company vehicles and equipment clean and in good working order.
- Respond to service calls and after hours calls promptly.
- Collect payment or payment information from customers for work performed.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with the customers in their home.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. most days. Seasonal overtime is expected during temperature events.
On-call rotation schedule with some evenings and weekends as necessary. Call rotates daily during the week and averages 1 weekend per month
