Overview:
The HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, calibrating, servicing, and repairing HVAC and environmental control systems. This position requires expertise in heating, refrigeration, pipefitting, and structural layout to ensure optimal performance of all HVAC equipment.
Responsibilities:- Installs, calibrates, services, modifies, and repairs heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems, and related environmental-control systems utilizing knowledge of heating and refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and structural layout; this also includes system malfunction diagnosis.
- Mounts compressor and condenser units on platform or floor, using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications.
- Fabricates, assembles, and installs ductwork and chassis parts, using portable metalworking tools and welding equipment.
- Prepares material lists for materials needed to support any HVAC activities.
- Maintains documentation (records), as required, on all work performed by loading these records into work management software program.
- Additional maintenance duties when requested by Supervisor.
- High school diploma or GED; 1-3 years of experience required.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year of related experience and/or training in refrigeration, HVAC, and/or electrical preferred.
- 3+ years of HVAC experience preferred.
- Current 30 CFR 250, Subpart O Safety System certification (offshore only).
- API RP 2D Crane Certificate (Crane Rigger Training) (offshore only).
- Marine Trash and Debris training certification (offshore only).
- TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card) as required by the client company.
- Additional training as required by the client company or location.
