HVACR Field Engineer at City Building Engineering Services

About the Job
JOB PURPOSE
The primary purpose of the Field Engineer is to evaluate and document current RHVAC and EMS (energy management systems) conditions for integration into supermarket capital projects. In addition, the Field Engineer is to commission the work completed, providing final acceptance of EMS to our clients.
Knowledge of HVAC/R maintenance process, installation and commissioning of supermarket control systems isrequired.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to travel up to 90% of the work week.
Primary point of contact foridentifyingand resolving communication related controls issues.
Act as a technical resource for all level 1 service providers.
Identifyissues with critical HVACR equipment and provide detailed scope for repair or resolution of problems. Engage in repairs as approved by the client via Service Channel.
Assistin resolution of issues remotely or on site asrequiredto support level 1 service provider. This includes remedial repairs asidentifiedwhile on-site. Delegation of repairs will beinitiatedby clients directly with CBES.
Maintain regular communication with all relevant parties relating to outstanding punch list items.
Support EMS (RHVAC) programming updates. Make changes and repairs asrequiredto support on-site inspections.
Provide detailed documentation and assessments of mechanical infrastructure, including custom-built and packaged air handling units, parallel compressor rack systems, energy management and building automation systems, and electrical components such as VFDs, relays, contactors, and transformers.
Other responsibilities asindicatedby Manager.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Visit locations that are under construction orremodelduring the construction period to inspect progress on the project and ensure that installation and programming guidelines are being followed.
Develop a commissioning plan for each assigned project based on the plans and specifications provided by the EMS Engineering team.
Perform on-site commissioning tasks including point-to-point testing and verification of proper programming for all EMS controlled equipment.
Prepare interim reports of commissioning activity as required and a final reportidentifyingall exceptions and/or out-of-spec conditions.
Make minor control wiring and programming changes asrequired.
Work with Construction Project Manager to get all exceptions corrected.
REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in the installation or maintenance of HVACR or controls systems
Experience in operation and programming of Danfoss and/or Emerson supermarket control systemsrequired.
Valid driver's license
EPA 608 certificationpreferred
Desired competencies
Ability to read blueprints preferred
Strong oral and written communication skills

Comfortability with working in small spaces such as machine rooms and on equipment that is loud, dusty, and difficult toaccess
