About the Job
KeyLogic has an immediate need to an Energy Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA (HYBRID, based out of Pittsburgh).
The Engineer/Scientist will join our team supporting the Department of Energy's (DOE) National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) in the areas of fossil energy and carbon management. The Engineer/Scientist will provide technical, analytical, and coordination support for conceptualization, formulation, implementation, and management of program planning and outreach activities and cooperative programs and projects focusing on clean energy research, development, and deployment, with an emphasis on global climate change mitigation. Work also includes advancing NETL's energy and environmental activities that promote advanced energy conversion technologies and practices which address climate change concerns.
Position Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, or physics with fundamental understanding of energy systems research and development. Advanced degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience related to advanced energy and environmental systems focused on clean and efficient fossil power generation.
- Good knowledge of at least three of the following technology areas is highly desired:
- Materials engineering and advanced manufacturing
- Sensors and distributed intelligent control systems
- Critical minerals and materials
- Carbon ore processing
- Simulation and modeling
- Strong Excel/data analysis skills with working knowledge of Python and its broad variety of libraries is strongly preferred.
- Must be result oriented and able to work on multiple assignments/projects in a fast paced deadline-oriented work environment.
PositionResponsibilities:
- Support research and development activities (in-house and extramural)
- Prepare technical reports, fact sheets, project portfolios, and white papers
- Provide technical support during industry meetings, conferences, workshops, and collaborative sessions with project partners (domestic and international).
- Provide program/project-related data acquisition, metrics, and reporting using Excel, Python, and other data analysis tools and models.
- Monitor ongoing and future research and development related to hydrogen with carbon management.
- Provide technical and coordination support to program planning, implementation, and outreach activities.
