Hydro Excavation Assistant - Duke's

Duke's is now looking for a Hydro Excavation Assistant to join our Hydro Excavation team based out of Livonia, MI! Come learn about the underground infrastructure industry and get paid to do meaningful work. If you are 18 years or older, this may be for you!

If you have previous experience with hydro excavating and/or landscaping, that is a plus!

We are also offering a one-time $1,500 milestone bonus for all field new employees paid out in two (2) increments over the first 12 months!

What You Will Do:

As the Hydro Excavation Assisant, (aka Field Services Technician), your day will typically start at 6:30am. You will be responsible for all activities related to assisting the Hydro Excavation Operator and completing the necessary task on the jobsite as they relate to hydro excavation services. You will be responsible for setting up vacuum tubes, assisting with hydro work, properly maintaining equipment, back fill of holes, site restoration, assisting with traffic control needs and ensuring a safe working environment. You will also be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and effective performance of all work in accordance with company-wide policies and procedures. You will:

• Maintain all working equipment in good operating condition
• Haul and tow equipment to and from job site - you will drive a 2500 while pulling various sized trailers, safety equipment, or Spoils
• Operate all equipment in a safe manner
• Assist Hydro Excavation Operator with hydro excavation work
• Back fill holes and perform site restoration (topsoil, seeding)
• Assist in tracking daily production and reporting of completed work
• Assist with traffic control
• Perform other duties as needed

• Are at least 18 years old
• Have a valid driver's license with a clean MVR record
• Are willing to undergo a background and MVR check, drug screen and DOT physical
• Enjoy working outside in all weather conditions
• Are able to work overtime as needed
• Are able to drive a 2500 while pulling various sized trailers, safety equipment, or Spoils
• Have solid computer skills (i.e., use of computer tablets, uploading and downloading files)
• Are able to up to 50lbs+ continuously throughout day
• Are able to work in confined spaces, wear and use confined space entry restraints, and enter structures with 24” internal diameter openings or larger continuously throughout the day if needed
• Have strong interpersonal skills and like working as part of a team
• Will abide by all safety procedures and policies, including wearing required PPE for your safety
• Travel requirement - The ability to travel overnight is not required, but rather on a volunteer basis (additional benefits are provided for overnight travel).

Additional information:

• Hours are Monday – Friday: 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (hours vary depending on project)
• There will be additional hours based upon job needs
• May be required to report to multiple different shop locations based on project needs
