About the Job
We are seeking a seasoned Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer with specialized experience in cyber program and standards, particularly in generating and reviewing NEI 08-09 and NEI 13-10 assessments of cyber controls or equivalent standards. As the SME within our ONS CDE I&C team, you will play a critical role in advancing our cyber program standards, ensuring compliance, and mentoring team members in these areas. If desired, the candidate will have the opportunity to expand their expertise and pursue qualification as a Responsible Design Engineer, focusing on cyber-related projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the generation and review of NEI 08-09 and NEI 13-10 assessments, or equivalent cyber control standards.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the ONS CDE I&C team on the cyber program and standards, guiding best practices and supporting the team’s growth.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to solve complex engineering problems, contributing technical expertise on cyber program requirements and compliance.
- Develop advanced skills and work with increasing independence to manage complex projects with limited supervision.
- Provide mentorship and training to team members on cyber program standards, fostering a culture of continuous learning and compliance.
- Optional opportunity to qualify as a Responsible Design Engineer, with a focus on cyber-related projects.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Controls, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in engineering with an emphasis in Instrumentation & Controls and/or Cybersecurity within regulated environments.
- Demonstrated experience with NEI 08-09, NEI 13-10, or equivalent cyber control standards, with a strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to apply engineering concepts to complex, specialized tasks.
- Strong communication and mentorship skills to support and train team members on cyber standards and program requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a nuclear, energy, or similar highly regulated industry.
- Previous experience serving as an SME or in a similar senior engineering advisory role.
- Interest in expanding skills to become a Responsible Design Engineer, with a focus on cyber-related projects.
