Job Summary
As an I&E Technician Level II, you will be responsible for the maintenance, calibration, and repair of electrical systems and instrumentation equipment in an industrial setting. This includes troubleshooting complex electrical and control systems, ensuring proper functionality of instrumentation, and adhering to safety standards. You will work on a range of equipment such as motors, transformers, PLCs, control valves, and digital/analog end devices.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Education
As an I&E Technician Level II, you will be responsible for the maintenance, calibration, and repair of electrical systems and instrumentation equipment in an industrial setting. This includes troubleshooting complex electrical and control systems, ensuring proper functionality of instrumentation, and adhering to safety standards. You will work on a range of equipment such as motors, transformers, PLCs, control valves, and digital/analog end devices.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Consider SAFETY as the primary responsibility in all operations
- Aid Technical and Operations Supervisors in coordinating I & E maintenance activities for facility repair, installation, and modifications. Work with Operations to maintain 98% runtime at facilities
- Ensure installations adhere to corporate policies, procedures, applicable codes and regulations
- Manage technical projects at the field level and coordinate material and resources
- Perform installation, problem diagnosis, fault analysis and repair of computerized control systems relative to the following:
- Metering (volumetric and mass measurement) and control devices
- Control systems (PLC, Relay Logic, DCS, etc.)
- Read and draw basic electrical schematics
- Basic knowledge of local area network
- MODBUS Over I/P
- Component level repairs to electronics circuits
- Motor operated valves
- Medium Voltage Switch Gear and Power Handling Equipment
- Electronic tank gauging systems
- Operations computer hardware and associated equipment
- Supervise and/or repair electrical problems on pipeline equipment, generators, CDP’s, water injection pumps, compressor stations, LACTs
- Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis, implement preventative/predictive maintenance. Ensure all safety system testing is completed and documented
- Other duties and projects assigned as necessary
- Participate in all QB Energy required safety training
Education
- Accredited one or two-year technical diploma meeting the requirements of a professional technical designation or high school diploma with a minimum of 5-10 years progressive and related experience
- Journeyman license preferred
- Valid driver’s license with motor vehicle records acceptable by QB Energy’s insurance carrier.
- Thorough knowledge of pipeline systems and surface equipment, including tanks, valves, positive displacement and centrifugal pumps, electric motors, gas engines, and other pertinent equipment.
- Strong understanding of pipeline transportation system operations.
- Sound knowledge of PSMA, API, NEC and OSHA codes and standards with an ability to apply that knowledge to pipeline projects.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office suite).
- Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision.
- Strong, team oriented interpersonal communication.
- Supervisory, analytical and project management skills.
- Programmable logic controller / Distributed control system (PLC/DCS) troubleshooting/programming experience preferred. Local Control Network experience.
- 5-10 years relevant oil and gas experience

- Must be available for callout schedule and overtime.
- Frequently required to stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, crouch and crawl.
- Frequently exposed to outside weather and hazardous driving conditions, exposed to wet and/or humid conditions
- The noise level in the work environment may be loud.
- This position is subject to federally mandated drug and alcohol testing.
