GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Canes Midstream is a private equity backed midstream oil and gas company with assets in the prolific Permian Basin. Canes operates the largest private greenfield gathering and processing system in the Southern Midland Basin. Canes Midstream is currently seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced individual for the position of I & E Tech II. The I & E Tech II is responsible for the safe oversight and/or manipulation, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of electrical and pneumatic instrumentation; AC and DC power distribution and controls; Low and Medium Voltage switchgear, motors, soft starts, and variable frequency drives ranging from 1.0hp to 5,000hp; Radio and field network data communications; All aspects of Gas and NGL/LPG custody transfer measurement; Orifice, Coriolis, PD, & Turbine meters; BS&W, tank gauging, color cut, and thief sampling in natural gas processing facilities, gas compressor stations, crude oil gathering and storage facilities, and custody transfer sites throughout the Canes Midstream assets. This position must continually strive to maintain the highest standards for safety, excellence, leadership, and professionalism, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of Canes Midstream.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, configure, initialize, and maintain ABB TotalFlow, Spirit, Fisher ROC, and MicroMotion Electronic flow computers.
- Install, calibrate, and maintain pneumatic, electronic, wireless, and radar level process instrumentation.
- Install, operate, maintain, and document critical gas quality monitoring instrumentation including chromatograph, moisture, oxygen, RVP, and hydrogen sulfide analyzers.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain spread spectrum Ethernet and serial radio and satellite communications equipment.
- Work closely with Gas Control to initialize, test, troubleshoot, and confirm SCADA communications.
- Complete Compressor Station I&E, measurement, and communications installation and integration for new sites as well as major expansions.
- Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot Allen Bradley, Modicon, and Micro PLC/HMI Systems.
- Troubleshoot power and control circuits, motors, switchgear, lighting, and heat trace systems in process facilities.
- Adhere to Canes Midstream Policies and Procedures, API, AGA, NEC, NFPA, and applicable industry standards and best practices for calibrations, installations, modification, and maintenance of Electrical, Instrumentation, Measurement, and Sampling equipment.
- Work with/from P&ID drawings, As Built Drawings, Job Books, and electrical and pneumatic schematic diagrams to troubleshoot, install, locate and identify various loops, measurement, and instrumentation.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability(ies) required.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, MS Windows is required.
- Proficient with PCCU, RocLink, WinCCU, MON, GPS, DOS, & Prolink.
- Understand concepts of throughput balancing and importance of field accuracy.
- Must reside in San Angelo/Big Lake/Sterling City, Texas vicinity.
- Strong mechanical skills are required.
- Knowledge of natural gas measurement, gathering, compression, and processing.
- Knowledge of crude oil measurement, gathering, storage, and delivery.
- Basic understanding of computer networks and their essential components.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 5 years verifiable experience in any combination of Gas Measurement, Crude Operations & Measurement, Commercial/Industrial Electrician, Instrumentation and Electrical Technician, Radio Communications Technician, Measurement Specialist, or accredited Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years applicable experience.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain insurability with corporate insurance company.
SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED
- Proficient with MS Excel – Create spreadsheets, manipulate, sort, and validate data.
- Proficient with MS Word – Create professional reports and written documentation.
- Proficient with MS Power Point – Create training and informational presentations.
- Advanced File Management – Copy, move, save in Drop Box, Explorer, and Network.
- Proficient with Google Earth and MS Streets & Trips
- Basic Database
- Advanced with PCCU, WinCCU, RocLink, ProLink, Emerson MON, RS Logix
- Basic understanding of Wonder Ware, Clear SCADA, Tech-Tools, and P-Gas helpful.
