POSITION SUMMARY:
Configures, installs, and repairs personal computing hardware and software systems and provides technical assistance and training to business users. Ensures all applications used to perform business functions are performing as indented and optimally.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
- Inspects personal computing equipment and configures it to meet user requirements.
- Installs or assists service personnel in installation of hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives.
- Loads specified software packages such as operating systems, business applications and office programs onto computing devices.
- Responds to customer inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnoses system hardware, software, and operational problems.
- Instructs customers in proper use of equipment and software.
- Recommends or preforms minor remedial actions to correct problems.
- Coordinates and communicates activities with help desk, network services, or other information technology groups.
- Provides status updates, and completion information to manager, ticket tracking system, and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communication.
- Create and maintain documentation on systems, software and processes used for support.
- Replaces defective or inadequate software packages
- Refers major hardware problems to service personnel for correction.
- Understand business model, department functions and processes to offer suggestions regarding IT solutions
- Participate in on-call rotation with nights, weekends, and holidays possible.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required
1 + year certificate from college or technical school preferred
1-3 years of related experience or a combination of education and experience

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, at times will need to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
