About The Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Cardiothoracic ICU Job Duration: 14 Weeks Shift: Nights, 3x12 Hr Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week Experience: Minimum of one year of nursing experience required License: Current RN license required Certifications: BLS and ACLS certifications required Must-Have: Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited school of Nursing Job Description: - Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. - Responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting. - Participate in identifying and meeting self-learning needs, including attending educational programs. - Use patient education materials relevant to the patient population and assess readiness to learn of patients/families/caregivers. - Work with the interdisciplinary team to evaluate patient care and communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care. - Demonstrate competence in caring for patients with complex problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects. - Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required and utilize organization and nursing standards, policies, and procedures. - Organize and prioritize care according to patient/family needs and consult with resources on complex care issues. - Develop goals to promote professional growth and participate in unit goals and performance improvement activities. - Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment for all parties involved. - Assess and anticipate discharge needs and develop relationships with families to advocate for patient and family needs. - Collaborate with patients/families to prepare and update care plans, using multidisciplinary resources. - Address cultural and ethnic issues when planning patient care and prioritize tasks for patients with complex issues. - Engage with relevant journals to find studies or articles applicable to practice and engage with staff for assessment and discussion.
