About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU **Job Specialty:** Intensive Care Unit (ICU) **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12-Hour Night Shifts, Every Other Weekend, First to Float **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum 2 years required; previous travel experience preferred **License:** Required to submit **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS required; COVID Vaccine and NIHSS required; PALS preferred **Must-Have:** - Experience with ICP monitoring and ventriculostomies - Trauma experience, including care for neuro-strokes and head injuries - Post-TPA patient care experience **Job Description:** - Orientation includes a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on day one (PASS/FAIL) - Unit has 30 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1-2, typically 1:2 - Charting system: Cerner - No nurse aides on the unit; charge nurses do not take patient assignments - Every other weekend work requirement; no current holiday requirements - Floating to telemetry or medical-surgical units may be required - Common patient diagnoses include trauma, neuro-strokes, and head injuries - Robust interventional radiology program; traveler-friendly environment - Fast-paced unit; candidates must be willing to ask questions and seek help if needed - Candidates must work well with others and adapt to the unit’s pace - The hospitalist is available 24/7; respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24/7 - Navy scrub color required Note: Candidates must have a minimum of 2-3 years of specialty experience and should be aware they will work very hard on this unit. The unit expects collaboration and openness to guidance.
