About the Job
Meta is seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to join our Infrastructure Data Center (IDC) team as an individual contributor. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in managing risk for our rapidly scaling Data Center infrastructure and innovative services.The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in multiple security domains. They should be capable of defining a clear mid-to-long term vision for security based on strategic business priorities, driving and supporting cross-functional projects and programs, and influencing partners to prioritize and execute against critical security initiatives. The candidate should have knowledge across the following core areas: Data Security, Physical Security, Security Architecture and Design, Governance Risk and Compliance, Incident Response, Threat Modeling, and Security Risk Management.

IDC Security Engineer Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement custom detection rules tailored to specific operational technology (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS)
- Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting infrastructure supporting network security tools
- Serve as a comprehensive security expert accountable for security risk management across logical and physical security domains
- Assess security risk and communicate information about security threats and vulnerabilities to inform business decisions and derive strategy
- Assess and report on effectiveness of security controls to inform security strategy, manage security risk, and enable business operations
- Engineer security solutions across the network, physical, and cyber/logical domains that efficiently protect Meta infrastructure from security threats at scale
- Develop security guidance (e.g., standards, guidelines, playbooks, etc.) to align corporate policy, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements into a unified security strategy
- Interpret, create, and refine technical documents, ensuring they capture security expectations and mandates
- Inform and drive cross-functional incorporation and execution of security requirements by Meta employees and contractors/consultants
- Act as a collaborative thought partner to data center design and operations teams, offering multidisciplinary security subject matter expertise to drive strategy and influence business decisions and outcomes
- Serve as a security advocate and educate peers and partners on security risks, requirements, and strategies
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- 10+ years of hands-on security experience
- Technical experience across security disciplines
- Experience in threat modeling
- Basic understanding and awareness of prevailing industry standards and guidelines
- Experience working cross-functionally
- Experience identifying and communicating clear security requirements to inform and empower execution-focused teams and personnel
- Experience establishing, scaling, and maturing security projects and programs
- Experience to manage, execute, and successfully deliver multiple complex projects and programs simultaneously
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- Background in intrusion detection, security investigations, and incident response
- Experience working on or managing projects that have enterprise-wide impact and/or multi-organization cross functional stakeholders
- Experience working directly in hyperscale Data Center programs or other large scale mission critical infrastructure
