This position serves as a IES Applications Developer supporting the
Illinois Department of Human Services (DHS), performing complex
professional and advisory functions in the Application Development
Eligibility Support Unit within Temporary Assistance for Needy Families
(TANF), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Medical
Eligibility Systems. In this role, you will develop and recommend
techniques, formulates concepts and procedures, and devises solutions to
unique issues that will achieve administrative and operational
objectives. In addition, you will independently perform complex program
coding, testing and implementation for highly technical systems
development. This position also serves as an Eligibility Support Unit
project leader, providing guidance and training to lower-level
professional staff.
## Essential Functions
- Under administrative direction, serves as a IES Applications
Developer for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT),
supporting the Illinois Department of Human Services (DHS),
performing professional and advisory functions in the Application
Development Eligibility Support Unit within Temporary Assistance for
Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program
(SNAP) and Medical Eligibility Systems
- Serves as an Eligibility Support Unit project leader, providing
guidance, training, and direction to lower-level professional staff
- Independently performs complex program coding, testing and
implementation for highly technical systems development
- Confers with user staff regarding requirements for SNAP, Cash, and
Medical Eligibility Systems
- Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology
field by continuing education through meetings, training sessions,
seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain
current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably
within the scope of the duties enumerated above
