This position serves as an IES Database Support Analyst I, supporting
the Illinois Department of Health & Human Services (IDHS), reviewing and
analyzing functional system requirements and comparing to end user
needs/requests for modifications. In this role, you will utilize
appropriate tools to create queries from TANF, SNAP and Medical
Eligibility Systems sources. In addition, you will conduct large complex
database/systems software implementation duties as a team member on both
enterprise and individual program applications. This position provides
technical expertise for the production of detailed database designs and
design documentation, including data modules, and data flow diagrams.
## Essential Functions
- Under general direction, serves asanIES Database Support Analyst
Ifor the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), supporting
the Illinois Department of Health & Human Services (IDHS),performing
difficult and specialized professional work, reviewing and analyzing
functional system requirements and comparing to end user
needs/requests for modifications.
- Conducts large complex database/systems software implementation
duties as a team member on both enterprise and individual program
applications.
- Provides technical expertise in the production of detailed database
designs and design documentation, including data modules, and data
flow diagrams.
- Completes maintenance and performance tuning of system databases to
ensure optimum efficiency using software products such as DB2 and
AIX.
- Determines solutions to problems and prepares recommendations and
impact statements for project management.
- Prepares written and graphical reports depicting development
progress for management.
- Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology
field by continuing education through meetings, training sessions,
seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain
current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably
within the scope of duties enumerated above.
