Rate: DOE (W2/1099/C2C)
Job Description:
The IIS System Administrator is responsible and accountable for the day-to-day operations of specific financial web applications hosted on IIS, and will work closely with the Application Operations Team to ensure maintenance of team standards. He/she must exhibit a strong service oriented attitude and the discipline to ensure the delivery and availability of highly performing production applications. He/she will review incidents and project deliverables insuring their activities meet or exceed defined service level agreements while making sure that requested work is completed accurately and on time.
Responsibilities:
Role Specific Responsibilities:
• Will act as SME for IIS system administration
• Manages specific web applications & production operations environments
• Supports application architecture based on standards & requirements
• Performs monitoring & control of production environment
• Ensures applications are available & reliable
• Executes day-to-day operational tasks
• Performs application & server administrative tasks
• Participates in 24/7/365 on-call rotations
• Ensures readiness of disaster recovery & maintains continuity capability
• Ensures the production application data is backed-up
• Complies with and ensure compliance to established change control processes
• Develops custom tools to improve day-to-day processes
• Active participation in Knowledge Sharing & Documentation
• Prepares and distributes operational reports
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Years of Experience: 3-5 as IIS Production Support administrative (.net applications)
Technical Skills:
• A minimum of 3-5 years direct experience with IIS and experience managing web farms in a high traffic environment
• Experience working with Microsoft Windows 2008 and 2012 server
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills including robust troubleshooting skills with a focus on preventative actions
• Experience with application architecture components (.net, caching, content delivery, high availability, storage, load balancing)
• High level understanding of reporting and analysis. Ability to use reporting tools to collect data and to produce output with interpretation and findings. Examples include breaches of thresholds, service levels etc.
• Familiar with monitoring tools.
• Experience with scripting in a Microsoft environment using VBScript or PowerShell
• Knowledge of AD and security.
• Knowledge of networking including DHCP, DNS, WINS, Firewalls, server load balancing
• Understands technology and technical concepts; Produces written materials with a consistent approach and tone
