JobSummary:
CT Technologists work under thedirection of the Radiologist to perform a variety of routine and complex CTscanning examinations for the purpose of diagnosing abnormalities, contributingto the efficient operation of the department and continuity of patient care.
Functionsand Duties:
Independentlyperforms computerized tomography exams of the head, abdomen, pelvis,extremities, chest and spine.
Receivesand evaluates physician orders with patient history and information.
Safelyadministers oral and IV contrast, utilizing power injectors.
Workswith Radiologist for pertinent information.
Coordinateswith vendors for service and notifies manager with any equipment issues.
Performsall Computerized Tomography quality assurance testing and logs into computer.
Coordinatespatient information with picture archive communication system and electronicmedical record [TK2]to save data and radiation dose.
Performsduties as a Radiologic Technologist as needed.
Performsall other duties as assigned.
MinimumQualifications:
Graduateof an AMA approved radiology program required.[TK3]
Experience
Oneyear of CT experience preferred.
Certifications, Licenses, andRegistrations
Basiclife support certification required.
Registeredby the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology (R) andComputed tomography (CT) required.
IllinoisEmergency Management Agency certification to perform Radiology required
Skills and Abilities
Knowledgeof cross sectional anatomy.
Abilityto start IVs
Abilityto maintain radiation safety.
