Title:Image ScientistKBR is seeking a highly qualified Image Scientist to provide support for the NRO Mission Operations Directorate (MOD)
MOD operates, maintains, and reports the status of intelligence satellites and their associated ground systems, provides defensive space control and space protection, monitors satellite flight safety, and provides space situational awareness
This effort includes support to innovation labs developing new tools, models, and algorithms to operate and exploit satellite space and ground systems.Responsibilities:In-depth expertise and experience in GEOINT image processing techniques and phenomenology for overhead collection systems (EO, IR, SAR, and other ISR platform sources). Apply remote sensing principles and methods to analyze data and solve geospatial intelligence tasking, collecting, processing, exploitation, and dissemination problemsPerform and conduct quality control of advanced-level imagery and imagery analysis and processing using geospatial/imagery applications Apply knowledge of imagery, products, processes and sensors and experience in imagery exploitation, artifact/anomaly identification, and quality scales (NIIRS)Address customer inquiries and provide proactive communication for user community for mission requirementsExperience with digital cartography, image processing, computer technology, GIS software, geospatial production techniques, remote sensing, and photogrammetryRequired Qualifications:3-5 years of in-depth expertise and experience in GEOINT image processing techniques and phenomenology for overhead collection systemsExperience with GEOINT platforms such as SAR; electro optical (EO) - panchromatic (PAN), and other intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance platform sources.Ability to apply expertise on how these systems can be leveraged to support both MOD lab innovations and mission operations advanced support.Active TS/SCI with CI polygraphBachelor’s degree in STEM or related quantitative science fieldDesire Qualifications:Master’s degree in engineering or related quantitative science field Experience leading teams resulting in successful verification and test strategies/solutions for complex programsExperience with cloud development processesExperience with industry system engineering practicesStrong interpersonal skills in order to influence, collaborate and work effectively with all levels of internal and external leadership.Knowledge of NRO Mission Operations DirectorateBasic Compensation: $123,200.00 - $184,800.00The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.Additional Compensation:KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation
