Imaging Clerk - Illinois CancerCare

Illinois CancerCare is seeking a full-time Imaging Clerk to perform clerical duties to support our Imaging department and help maintain an efficient and effective operation. The Imaging Clerk will provide excellent customer service including answering phones and completing all networking exam requests, image requests, and addendums. Also responsible for assisting technologists when needed. Preferred experience includes experience in an imaging setting or medical office, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Imaging PACS.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES (IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE)

Essential Duties

1. Process and complete all networking exam requests utilizing QCL and Mosaiq Mail.
2. Follow up on reports, image requests, and addendums.
3. Answer telephones/fax requests, screen calls, and forward to appropriate personnel.
4. Make copy of patient exams to disk when requested.
5. Request images/disks from outside facilities.
6. Import exams/CDs into PACS.
7. Stock supplies and linens.
8. Assist Technologists when needed.
9. Attend required staff and educational meetings to maintain knowledge.
10. Maintain patient confidentiality.
11. Observe OSHA and facility policies and guidelines.
12. Report to work area on time and remain available throughout the workday.
13. Work additional hours when requested.
14. Communicate to outside facilities in a courteous, helpful manner.

Other Duties

1. Perform all other duties as requested or required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

High School graduate or equivalent.

Medical Terminology and Imaging Secretary experience preferred.

TRAINING AND LICENSURE PREFERRED

Training in an imaging setting and/or medical office preferred.

Familiar & knowledgeable with Imaging PACS, Microsoft Excel & Word.
