Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Manage the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing. - Responsible for a functional area and not have any subordinate employees. - Work on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. - Follow processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. - Act as advisor to subordinate(s) to meet schedules and/or resolve problems. - Develop and administer schedules, performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities. - Frequently interact with subordinate employees, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company. - Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team. - Receive assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. - Provide guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies. - Recommend changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s). Minimum Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in related field. - 5-7 years of relevant professional experience required.
- Manage all clients contact throughout the implementation of a complex project, including systems and operations projects
- Coordinate activities between internal and external stakeholders.
- Create and maintain project documentation, including the project schedule and workplan.
- Present updates at internal and external stakeholder meetings.
- Ensure project activities are delivered on time.
- Vocalize and track risks and issues negatively impacting project outcomes.
- Work with Subject Matter Experts in the areas of systems, reporting, call centers, mail house, and creation of education and outreach material.
- Ability to complete multiple tasks related to the implementation of new and expansion of existing projects.
- Maintains confidential and sensitive information.
- Meets all standards established for this position.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by management.
- Experience leading complex projects spanning multiple knowledge, technical, and functional disciplines
- Health Services experience a plus
- Experience working as a team member and independently
- Strong computer skills, including intermediate to expert skill level of MS Office, MS Project, and SharePoint, JIRA/JAMA
Project Responsibilities
- Experience leading complex IT projects spanning multiple knowledge, technical, and functional disciplines.
- Oversee large and complex IT project(s) that include managing multiple workstreams simultaneously such as; certification, documentation, requirements gathering, testing, development, training, operations, feedback loops, etc.
- Manage the implementation of MMIS or MES components or modules.
- Experience integrating complex system platforms across providers, members, and health plans.
Project Required Experience and Skills
- PMP Certification
- 25-30% travel based on client needs
- Knowledge of Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS) or Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES)
- Experience working on Medicaid modernization projects
- Advanced experience using tools such as; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Smartsheet, and Project
- Medicaid Information Technology Architecture (MITA) knowledge
- Working knowledge of JIRA/JAMA
- In-depth knowledge of Agile, Kanban, Scrum, and XP
- Product development experience

- Health Services experience
- Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) certification knowledge
- SDLC/IEEE/CMMI knowledge
- ITIL knowledge

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards.
