PNC Bank has created an opportunity for aspiring IT professionals to gain in-depth and extensive training, education, and hands on experience in the industry which would transition into a full time position with the Bank. This consists of a ten and half week comprehensive, mentor-led training program around Agile Scrum, ITIL Foundations, Linux/Bash/Shell/Python scripting, DevOps with CI/CD/MLOps for incident prediction, and advanced problem solving skills for root cause analysis (Over $13,000 in educational material). After which you would transition to a year engagement of full time work in an enterprise environment and into a permanent position with PNC Bank. Overview
PNC Bank’s IT Rising Talent program offers aspiring IT professionals the opportunity to undertake an intensive and extensive training program that transitions into a full-time position with the Bank to gain hands on experience not only in the IT industry but with a world-renowned organization. PNC is building out their IT department amidst rapid growth and expansion and is seeking qualified individuals to make an impact on their team. This includes a 10.5 week training program into a year long immersion as an IT professional, then a permanent position with the bank. This allows you to jump start your career in a large, enterprise environment and gain invaluable knowledge, education, and experience from high level IT leaders that will allow you to fast track your journey in the field.
Key Skills:
Effective Communicator – Having clear, concise, and effective (written and verbal) communication skills when coordinating with team members and stakeholders (The associates must be able to communicate to various roles within the bank, confidently.)
Leadership Skills – Guiding the team through high-pressure situations, making quick, effective decisions, and providing support where needed, all while maintaining morale
Problem Solving – Ability to quickly identify issues and develop viable solutions (examples where they have accomplished), this includes analytical and technical aptitude (demonstrated by case study assessment, references, past experience)
Calm Under Pressure – Ability to maintain composure during high-pressure situations while making rational decisions and reassuring the team
Empathy – Understanding the impact of incidents on users while being sensitive to their needs; understanding and addressing the concerns of team members and stakeholders to improve cooperation and trust
Time Management – Efficiently prioritizing tasks and managing time to resolve incidents promptly
Adaptability – Being able to adjust to changing situations and think on your feet.
Collaboration Skills – Keeping people on track with conflict resolution, working well with others, leveraging team strengths, and fostering a cooperative environment
Attention to Detail – Ensuring that all processes and policies are followed correctly to prevent or resolve incidents efficiently.
Risk Management – Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to prevent incidents from escalating.
Demonstrated level of business acumen and aptitude and willingness to learn
Ability to be receptive and receive feedback and put into action
Demonstrate ability to apply skills and tools learned in a timely fashion
Driven, motivated and wanting to excel in one’s career and become part of the IT industry
Experience using Microsoft suite of products and experience working in a professional setting in some capacity in a related field
Computer Science Degree, MIS, Business Management, Business Administration degrees, and Communications degrees are highly considered. Resources will also be screened and identified for those who have the aptitude and desire to work as an Incident and Problem Specialist.
Understanding of how computers work
One or more years of technical experience
Familiarity with operating systems and networking basics
Introductory knowledge of database concepts
Programming experience with Python & SQL would be a plus
