Suburban Contractors LLC is seeking an experienced Industrial/Bridge/Tower Sandblaster to perform surface preparation on a variety of structures, including bridges, towers, and industrial sites. The Sandblaster will be responsible for removing old paint, rust, and other contaminants, ensuring that surfaces are properly prepared for coatings or repairs. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work at heights or in challenging environments.
Who we are:
- Surface Preparation: Perform sandblasting to remove rust, old paint, and other surface contaminants on bridges, towers, and industrial structures.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate sandblasting equipment, ensuring proper use of abrasives and pressure settings.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols, including wearing protective gear and ensuring proper ventilation in confined spaces.
- Inspection: Inspect surfaces before and after sandblasting to ensure they meet the standards for painting or coating.
- Maintenance: Maintain and clean sandblasting equipment, ensuring all machinery operates efficiently.
- Work at Heights: Perform tasks on elevated platforms or scaffolding, adhering to all safety standards when working at heights.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure project timelines are met and safety standards are upheld.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of work performed, including surface conditions, materials used, and time spent on each project.
- Experience: Previous experience in sandblasting or surface preparation for industrial, bridge, or tower projects.
- Knowledge of sandblasting equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ability and knowledge to work at heights, setup, move and dismantle scaffolding, or suspended platforms.
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to sandblasting and confined spaces.
- Strong attention to safety protocols and procedures
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Physically fit, with the ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites as needed.
- OSHA certification or equivalent safety training is preferred.
- Potential to advance to foreman roles or specialized positions within the company.
