Job DescriptionWe are seeking a driven and innovative Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join our team for the summer 2025 season. This internship will provide hands-on experience in optimizing manufacturing processes and systems in the automotive OEM manufacturing industry. You will work alongside seasoned engineers to learn the intricacies of manufacturing engineering, contributing to process improvements, product quality, and operational efficiency.
As a Manufacturing Engineer Intern, you will assist in the design, analysis, and implementation of manufacturing processes and be involved in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing costs, improving productivity, and ensuring product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the design, development, and implementation of efficient manufacturing systems, processes, and equipment.
- Collaborate with engineers to analyze production methods and suggest improvements.
- Assist in troubleshooting production issues and developing solutions to minimize downtime.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on optimizing workflows and increasing production efficiency.
- Help in identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing lean manufacturing techniques.
- Conduct time studies and analyze workflow to improve production line efficiency.
- Prepare documentation, including work instructions, process flows, and engineering reports.
- Assist in monitoring and ensuring compliance with safety and ergonomics standards.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including quality assurance and maintenance, to support product and process improvements.
- Collect and analyze data to evaluate production performance and recommend changes.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing, and industrial automation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and simulation tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
