Shift: 2nd (Train on 1st 3-6 months)
Pay: $30-$50
Job Description
The Maintenance Utilities Technician is primarily responsible for the proper and safe operation and maintenance of all plant utilities. This includes the ammonia refrigeration, steam, hot water, glycol, HVAC and fire protection systems, compressed air, plus any building maintenance. Additionally, the utilities technician also participates in packaging and production maintenance in critical situations as needed. This position requires the associate to be on call 24/7 and fill in for vacations/absences where applicable.
Responsibilities
+ Operate and maintain facility ammonia/CO2 refrigeration systems.
+ Operate and maintain facility steam and hot water boiler systems.
+ Operate and maintain facility hot water heating systems.
+ Operate and maintain facility glycol systems.
+ Operate and maintain facility HVAC systems.
+ Maintain fire protection systems.
+ Maintain compressed air systems.
+ Perform lift truck/tow motor maintenance.
+ Accurately complete all required documentation and systems transactions.
+ Perform all job duties in accordance with the company’s safety and quality guidelines.
+ Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration components including valves, pumps, electrical controls, compressors, etc.
+ Complete all jobs in any area as assigned by supervisor.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with HVAC systems.
+ Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems.
+ Experience with hot water systems and glycol systems.
+ Boiler maintenance skills.
+ Ability to troubleshoot refrigeration systems.
+ EPA Universal Certification (EPA 608).
+ RETA Certification.
+ Knowledge of Ammonia Refrigeration Training Guideline (ARTG) and IIAR standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Prior refrigeration/maintenance experience preferred.
+ Technical training or certifications desired.
+ Demonstrated sense of urgency in completing tasks.
+ Comfort working in a high-speed production environment.
+ Ability to work independently or with a team and communicate effectively.
+ Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to coach others.
+ Willingness to work internally and externally in diverse environmental conditions.
