Gallagher Bassett Technical Services is seeking a qualified environmental, health, and safety (EHS) professional to become a valued member of our Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Safety team. The ideal candidate for this position must be a proactively motivated individual with the ability to manage projects and deliver quality consulting services with minor supervision.
Salary: $80,000 - $100,000/year
How you'll make an impact
Position Summary:
- Hybrid work location position which reports to the Manager – Industrial Hygiene Services or Occupational Safety located in the Chicago metro area business unit office.
- Anticipated 50% travel local or overnight for on-site Client service with balance as remote worker performing desktop reviews, report preparation, planning, and coordination for other projects.
- Complete IH/occupational safety investigations, and workplace assessments in a variety of industrial and commercial client settings. Understand and apply investigation techniques to evaluate working conditions in regards to the control of occupational hazards and diseases.
- Familiarity with occupational and environmental regulations and guidelines and workplace hazard controls; and ability to provide recommendations to reduce potential workplace hazards.
- Prepare training materials and conduct classroom and online training sessions.
About You
Required:
- Minimum 3-5 years of occupational health and safety experience including use of exposure monitoring equipment and techniques. Experience working with and knowledge of federal and state regulations expected. Experience with federal, state, and local environmental compliance and occupational safety regulations a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in science-related field with effective written and oral communication skills.
- Computer competency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Remote workspace with access to high-speed internet for provided computer/monitors.
- Position requires on-site service to clients, therefore applicants must have:
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to negotiate client properties, which could entail climbing, lifting, and walking.
- Ability to handle equipment case of at least 25 pounds.
- Ability to pass a medical clearance physical to wear a respirator.
- Available on occasion for off-shift and weekend work or other field investigations which will require travel by car and overnight stays.
Desired:
- Strong EHS consulting experience
- On path to meet qualifications as Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) by the Board of Global EHS Credentialing and/or as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals,
- Bi-lingual or multi-lingual communication skills.
- Located in the Chicago metro area preferred.

- Strong analytical skills to interpret collected data and apply appropriate occupational standards and offer recommendations for improvement
