# Project Overview:
Bechtel National, Inc. (BNI), Bechtel’s government services business, is one of the top providers to departments and agencies of the U.S. and British governments. Its successes include many large, first-of-a-kind projects in government site management, environmental restoration, defense, space, energy, and national and homeland security. This position will provide support to the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) located at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
UPF is a multi-year, multi-billion-dollar project and will be a first-of-its-kind complex for enriched uranium operations in support of Y-12 missions. UPF is one of the Department of Energy’s largest investments in Tennessee since the Manhattan Project and one of the National Nuclear Security Administration’s largest construction projects. When complete, UPF will: replace a 70-year-old facility with modern buildings, reduce operational costs and energy consumption, improve worker safety, and provide enriched uranium capabilities well into the future.
The UPF project works on a 4/10 schedule. Start times are flexible but the standard work week is: Monday - Thursday from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm or Tuesday Friday from 6:00 am to 4:30. There is the potential to work overtime (including weekends) to support project needs.
Eligibility for this position requires US citizenship; successful candidate must provide proof of US citizenship in order to obtain badge access to the site. Candidate must complete security questionnaire and successfully clear site access requirements check. All employees are subject and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment. Must be able to obtain a security clearance, as applicable.
# Job Summary:
In this role, you will lead a team to manage industrial hygiene support and services on projects, ensuring requirements are integrated into design criteria and operational planning. You will oversee research, assessments, incident resolution, risk mitigation, and compliance. Your technical guidance will support successful Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) program execution. #LI-EH1
# Major Responsibilities:
Level 1
+ Assists execution of the Industrial Hygiene (IH) component of an ESH Program inclusive of technical and administrative aspects.
+ Helps prepare and implement Safety and Health Management Plan, associated plans and procedures, and training program.
+ Provides input to Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Subcontracts, Commissioning, and other groups to assure that IH requirements are integrated within project planning and execution.
+ Interprets IH requirements and provides comprehensive assistance on plan preparation, risk assessment, and ESH program execution.
+ Researches moderately complex issues and regulatory requirements and prepares documentation and reports.
+ Provides support and guidance for IH studies, risk assessments, and program reviews and audits.
+ Participates in emergency response and incident investigation and resolution.
+ Interfaces and communicates with stakeholders and helps resolve their concerns.
+ Participates in meetings with customers, team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
+ Conducts ESH inspections and IH monitoring and sampling to identify hazards and risks, evaluate controls and corrective actions, and assess compliance with contract, regulatory, project, and Bechtel requirements.
+ Prepares data summaries, performance reports, technical reports, and presentations.
+ Develops ESH communications and training materials using diverse methods and media and gives training.
+ Provides support for ESH team members and tasks, inclusive of all three ESH disciplines.

+ Facilitates execution of the Industrial Hygiene (IH) component of an ESH Program inclusive of technical and administrative aspects.
+ Helps prepare and implement Safety and Health Management Plan, associated plans and procedures, and training program.
+ Provides input to Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Subcontracts, Commissioning, and other groups involving IH issues, risks, and techniques to reduce adverse impacts.
+ Interprets and integrates IH requirements in proposals, planning documents, risk assessment, and ESH program execution.
+ Researches moderately complex issues and regulatory requirements, performs studies and risk assessments, and prepares documentation and reports.
+ Provides support & guidance for IH studies, risk assessments, and program reviews and audits.
+ Helps establish emergency preparedness and performs incident investigations.
+ Interfaces and communicates with stakeholders and helps resolve their concerns.
+ Participates in, or leads, meetings with customers, team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

# Education and Experience Requirements:
+ Level 1: Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) related to Industrial Hygiene and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9 -12 years of relevant work experience
+ Level 2: Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) related to Industrial Hygiene and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
+ Must be a US citizen
+ Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, which includes verification of employment and education.
+ Must be able to obtain site security badge for access to work site
