Express Employment Professionals is looking for an Industrial Painter to work with our Valued Client in Niles, OH.
Shift: Daylight - start time is 6:00a working 8 or 10 hour shifts.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 BOE
Summary:
The Job Holder (JH) assumes the position of Painter. The primary responsibilities are outlined in this job description. The JH supports the Production Manager / Supervisor Manager in Continuous Improvement activities.
The JH is responsible for all painting activities. The JH’s targets include continuous improvement of the paint process and paint cost. The JH is responsible to promote/maintain a safe workplace environment and for the adherence and enforcement of all SMI and other applicable regulations.
Primary Duties:
The following duties are not all inclusive but describe the main duties for the JH:
· Paint Planning
o Plan required activities before starting jobs:
1. Plan early enough to make sure all required materials are available.
2. Review customer jobs for paint and print preparation needs.
3. Review customer paint specs.
4. Review possible health hazards.
5. Review and prepare equipment and PPE needs for jobs (i.e. in case of confined scape activities).
6. Review and understand paint process and paint parameters.
o Follow SOP’s as required.
o Adhere to start dates for painting of jobs and inform Supervision of conflicts.
o Ensure adherence to job-allocated paint / primer / thinner as required.
o Support / guide use of outside sources for paint and blast.
o Coordinate with shipping shipment.
o Calculate start of painting and communicate to APLS’ s when job needs to be ready for paint.
Painting:
o Perform pre-painting activities on parts in preparation for painting (sanding, “Wiping Down with Solvents” and / or “Power Washing” and other).
o Review and check blast profile if required.
o Check for possible assistance required to move large parts during painting.
o Check part for visible defects (i.e. weld defects, see also “Inspection”).
o Tape and prepare part.
o Apply a variety of industrial coatings to fabricated metal products.
o After painting and in case of customer specific colors clarify with Supervision if remaining paint will be shipped with order.
o Maintain and improve paint room cleanliness.
o Maintain and improve a clean and safe work environment and observe good safety habits.
