Industrial Quality & Process Engineering Manager, Microelectronics

Ecolab’s Colloidal Technology Group transforms molecular sodium silicate into particles ranging in size from 1.5-100 nanometers and of concentration (6-50%), suspended in water to make colloidal silica. We produce approximately 60 different products in this space, shipping them globally to many different customers. Constantly improving and challenging our current strong quality structure is necessary to the success of the organization and its customers. We are looking for a dynamic change-agent that will challenge us to move forward and improve while also being a hands-on member who can help the team deliver their business objectives. The Quality and Process Engineering (QPE) group is responsible for leading these continual improvement activities.
This position will provide global project and process improvement leadership. The successful candidate will lead global teams to achieve that optimization by combining their knowledge and skills in Quality, process engineering, technology, and analytics. This position focuses on continuous improvement in quality, process control, and start-up of new product production at manufacturing plants. Ongoing activities include quality problem resolution at the manufacturing plants with an emphasis on plant capabilities in mixing and packaging.
The location of this role is located in Clearing, IL, with travel to Naperville, IL needed intermittently. This is a global role and may require both local and international travel. This associate will report to the Industrial Quality & Process Engineering Vice President.
What You Will Do:
- Develop future global strategies for the key product platform, defining improved Equipment and Operational Standards that can optimize future safety, efficiency, quality, and costs.
- Deployment and roll out of global manufacturing best practices through collaboration with RD&E and regional plants. Best practices to be documented and audited against ISO9001:2015 standards
- Support the global planning for capital investments and strategy in all regions with respect to technology systems and platforms.
- Lead large scale projects delivering significant impact for the company.
- Work with a global team to drive the execution of a portfolio of projects. The projects in the portfolio will standardize best practices, deliver new technology into the plants, improve OPE, Quality, process capabilities, yield, and profitability.
- Continuously communicate with the OBL to proactively deliver products that meet the requirements of an ever-evolving MicroE industry.
- Managing product defects and solutions
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline, engineering preferred
- 5 years of experience in Quality management role (supply chain engineering, process development, platform management, RD&E, Quality)
- 3 of years leadership of a product line in a manufacturing / pilot plant environment.
- English speaking and technical writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Chemical Engineering or Chemistry background
- Advanced technical degree
- Prior experience in Supply Chain manufacturing, Semiconductor manufacturing
- 10 years of Prior experience manufacturing chemistries supporting Colloidal Silica processes and new product development
- Background in large project management and direct experience in developing financial justification for investments
- 8 years of experience in a wide range of polymer and chemical processes.
- 5 years of experience in technology management role (supply chain engineering, process development, platform management, RD&E)
- 3 years of experience leading the deployment of process technology projects in a manufacturing environment.
