Job Description
As an Industrial Assembler, you will perform disassembly, cleaning, requalification, rework, and assembly operations on Traction Motor Combo components using manual and automated equipment in accordance with quality procedures. You will inspect completed work on components to ensure compliance with internal inspection criteria and engineering requirements. Your role will support lean manufacturing principles, such as 5S and single piece flow, and may involve special processes like welding or non-destructive testing, which require additional training or certification.
Responsibilities
+ Disassemble, clean, requalify, rework, and assemble Traction Motor Combo components.
+ Utilize manual and automated equipment in accordance with quality procedures.
+ Inspect completed work on components to ensure compliance with quality or engineering requirements.
+ Perform tasks safely and support lean manufacturing principles, including 5S and single piece flow.
+ Potentially perform special processes such as welding or non-destructive testing with appropriate training or certification.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in assembly and mechanical assembly.
+ Familiarity with schematics and industrial assembly.
+ Experience in heavy industry and heavy labor.
+ Proficiency in operating heavy equipment and cranes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with overhead crane operation is a bonus but not required.
+ Certification on crane operation will be provided within the first 30 days.
Work Environment
This role involves working in a heavy industrial setting with significant physical demands. You will handle train axles and wheels, disassemble them, diagnose issues, and send them for remanufacturing. The role requires operating crane assist equipment, for which certification will be provided. The work environment is dynamic and supports lean manufacturing principles.
