Local Sheet Metal Company is seeking a qualified Industrial Spray Paint Technician to join their team.

Industrial Spray Painter Job Summary:

The Industrial Spray Paint Technician is responsible for applying protective coatings and finished to various industrial components and products using spray painting techniques. This role involves preparing surfaces, mixing and applying paint, and ensuring high-quality finishes while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.

Job Duties:

• Surface Preparation:

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking as necessary.
  • Inspect surfaces to ensure they are free of defects and contaminants before painting.

• Paint Application:

  • Mix and prepare paint according to specifications, including color matching and adjusting consistency.
  • Operate spray painting equipment to apply coatings evenly and accurately.
  • Apply primers, base coats, and topcoats to various surfaces and products.

• Equipment Maintenance:

  • Maintain and clean spray painting equipment, including spray guns, compressors, and hoses.
  • Perform routine inspections and minor repairs on painting equipment to ensure optimal performance.

• Quality Control:

  • Inspect painted surfaces to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Identify and address any issues such as defects, runs, or uneven coverage.
  • Conduct touch-ups and refinishing as needed to achieve a flawless finish

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a spray paint technician within an automotive/aerospace environment
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining spray painting equipment.
  • Knowledge of various types of paints, coatings, and application techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality finishes.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and environmental considerations related to painting.
