Job Title: Hardware Engineer - Industry Security Standards Specialist - FIPS
Location: On-site in Austin, TX, or in San Jose, CA
Duration:12+ Months Contract
Required:
- Candidate's title might be something along the lines of FIPS Engineer or Silicon Security Engineer
- Supporting silicon design project
- Requires security background/FIPS knowledge and experience
- Interacting with design and verification engineers, keeping a checklist and documenting milestones specific to the design pertaining to certification criteria, to get the chip certified (FIPS 140-3 Certification)
- Strong technical communication skills required
- Possibility of extension in this role
Client develops leading technology solutions that require various industry security certifications. You will play an integral role with AECG Security Architects providing direction and support for certification standards enablement for AECG products.
You will specifically provide support for interpretation of FIPS and Common Criteria security standards by reviewing the associated specifications, and attending associated working groups related to achieving Client certification goals. You will engage closely with Client team members to disclose interpretation of standards requirements that impact AECG products and then provide advice and direction to achieve certifications. Coordination across engineering development teams - architecture, design, verification, silicon validation - is essential to successful certification testing of AECG products.
Qualifications:
Experience engaging with Industry Standards organizations (active membership in underlying working groups preferred)
General understanding of one or more hardware architectures and components (PCIe Accelerators preferred)
Understanding of one or more certification standard sets of requirements (Security related including FIPS and/or Common Criteria preferred)
Familiarity with typical OS components
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Eagerness and ability to quickly learn new concepts
Ability to work in a closely collaborative team environment, as well as independently
Education:
BS or BA Degree - in a technical field preferred (e.g. Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent)
6+ years relevant experience, with 2 years active industry standards engagement
