Infection Control Nurse - Travel - (IC RN) - NursingJobs

We are looking for an Infection Control RN to conduct regular and routine monitoring of nursing units to assess patients’ need for precautions against infectious diseasesIn this role you will: •Review daily admissions and transfers for infectious diagnosis •Review all positive cultures and other laboratory results to identify the need for precautions, interventions and follow-up •Investigate clusters of infectious disease to identify source of infections •Observe clinical practice of physicians, nurses and other staff to aide in the identification of outbreak causes •Identify potential staff training needs to ensure compliance and understanding of precautions and staff use of patient care equipment •Conduct routine environmental checks •Ensure new equipment meets standards for infection control Requirements include: •NYS RN license/registration •BSN required; MSN preferred •Infection Control certification preferred •Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience required with a minimum of 1 year of hospital epidemiology preferred
