POSITION SUMMARY:
The Health Economics Informaticist participates in various aspects of standardizing data for extraction, transformation, and loading, as well as preparation of dashboarding to solve complex problems in health economics and health workforce research and consulting. The Informaticist works collaboratively with the consulting team and clients to recommend strategies for problem analysis, presenting findings, dashboard design, and rigorous data science methods to grow our client offerings. The Informaticist also serves as an analytics architect and developer of the team’s data warehouse and dashboarding products, and is responsible for standardizing, documenting and maintaining a data pipeline from ingestion and archiving to outputting information for client project needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
Design/Maintenance
- Design and maintain key components of the informatics infrastructure, including terminology, data models, knowledge resources, complex workflows, dynamic end-user interfaces, aggregations of data designed to support research and client initiatives.
- Recommends and integrates controlled standard terminologies in data normalization, and prepares standardized data extracts for research and analysis.
Project Management:
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work products.
- Collaborate with clients to understand project needs, create proposals, and translate them into actionable project work plans.
- Uphold high standards for consultants within the team.
- Understand the rationale behind consulting projects, the client’s agenda, and project priorities.
- Identify and structure project-related issues, analyze them, and develop deliverables and recommendations.
- Use established strategy and marketing frameworks to analyze data and communicate project results.
Business Development:
- Identify and understand client needs, staying informed about competitive offerings and their implications for GlobalData’s services.
- Pitch and win new business and clients.
- Maintain ongoing, in-depth contact with key clients through projects and conferences.
Thought Leadership:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in health economics, healthcare policy, and pharmaceutical markets. Contribute to the firm's thought leadership through publications, presentations, and participation in industry conferences.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate will possess an undergraduate degree and demonstrated excellence in previous roles, proven analytic abilities, strong presentation skills, and a team-oriented attitude. Additionally, experience in information/data-based consulting project delivery for Life Sciences clients, ideally covering topics such as health economics, is essential. Preferable located in the New York City area, a remote position in the U.S. is possible.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong database programming skills as well as data preparation and data analysis skills (e.g. SQL, Apache Spark, etc.).
- Demonstrated technical abilities in areas including data-driven applications and developing dashboarding using R Shiny.
- Experience with statistical tools, data mining, machine learning, and other modeling and simulation tools.
- Undergraduate degree in Biomedical Informatics, Informatics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent, with an emphasis on healthcare or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
- Experience with government, public utility or healthcare data warehousing, and data preparation & analysis.
Preferred
- 2+ years of experience in life sciences consulting or relevant project-based work.
- Experience building health economic models (e.g., cost-effectiveness, budget impact models) to support the value proposition of pharmaceutical products and medical devices.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in health economics, pharmacoeconomics, health services research, or a related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in a broad array of data science theories and techniques.
- Familiarity with federal data sets from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
