POSITION SUMMARY:
A Project Manager I in the Information Services department is responsible for the coordination and successful execution of technology-based projects, managing all fundamental aspects including scope, budget, and schedule. This role requires regular monitoring and reporting on project progress, and effective relationship management with team members and cross-departmental stakeholders. The Project Manager I should be familiar with both traditional (Waterfall) and modern (Agile) project management methodologies.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the execution of IS application development and infrastructure projects, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints under the guidance of senior project management personnel.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope and objectives clearly.
- Develop and maintain a detailed project plan to track and monitor progress effectively.
- Manage financial aspects of the project, including budget preparation and cost tracking.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders, maintaining transparent communication regarding project status.
- Implement change management processes to adjust project scope, schedule, and costs as needed.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support requirements management and stakeholder engagement to ensure project alignment with business needs.
- Independently coordinate with IS management teams to address resource allocation and scheduling challenges.
- Facilitate project meetings, ensuring effective minute taking and action item tracking.
- Deliver project status reports to both IS Management and business stakeholders.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in I.S. Project Management.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Information Systems.
- Formal training in project management or a recognized project management certification is required.
- Experience with collaboration and project management tools such Jira, Confluence, BigPicture, Custom Charts, Webex is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Comprehensive understanding of various software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Basic skills in requirements management and elicitation.
- Outgoing, confident, and comfortable communicating with all levels of management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in team settings.
- Availability to work extra hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Project management certification or training desired.
