Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the level one Information Technology Specialist position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.

As an IT Specialist L1, you will collaborate closely with seasoned senior technicians while taking charge of general maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks for computer systems and peripherals. Your role encompasses managing service tickets, adhering meticulously to manufacturer specifications for equipment installation, and adeptly resolving access card issues. You'll also play a pivotal role in sanitizing and disposing of IT equipment, alongside monitoring network devices and providing comprehensive hardware and software support. Additionally, you will be integrating printers/scanners, setting up telephony equipment, and operating AV display systems, contributing to a seamless and efficient IT environment.


Skills / Experience Required

• Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance
• 3+ years of relevant DoD work experience
• Support of all components of PCs, Hardware, wireless networking, hardware and software installation, testing and operations
• Maintain workstations, network access, and system documentation
• Perform Video Teleconference (VTC) System administration, scheduling, and configuration, as needed
• Provide network direct client support
• Create, modifydelete accounts
• Provide direct multi-level Help Desk support and troubleshooting of all hardware and software
• Perform hardware/software system configuration, upgrades, and modifications
• Ce and support desktop and laptops
• Analyze and troubleshoot system anomalies
• Prepare systems for operational use and support operational tests
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Education / Certifications

• Bachelor' degree: Arts (BA), Science (BS)
• Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education
• CompTIA Network + or equivalent to meet DODM 8140.03 Tech Support Specialist Level 1 requirements
• Security + or equivalent to meet DODM 8140.03 or must obtain within 6 months of hire

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.

Salary range: $72,000 - $82,000
