Responsibilities If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with the day-to-day operations and administration of IT Systems within the Office of the United States Attorney, District of Delaware. Typical work assignments will include but not limited to: Maintaining network architecture and infrastructure; Provide customer service and support in troubleshooting, recovering, and resolving recurring software/hardware problems; Properly maintain and control assigned telecommunications systems using knowledge of the capabilities and applications of network equipment including hubs, routers, switches, servers, and related hardware; Applies knowledge of the capabilities of commercial information systems security products, including firewalls and intrusion detection software in use by the organization; Converts user-developed content into workable Web pages using standard graphics markup languages, such as hypertext markup language (HTML) or extensible markup language (XML). Uses a variety of formats to deliver content using the internet, including graphics and multimedia; Implementing policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability; Monitoring functionality, security, and integrity of internet services; Installing, configuring, and maintaining litigation support equipment; and Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining customer hardware and software. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-11: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, Problem Solving. AND Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying Information Technology concepts, methods, standards, Performing information Technology (IT) work that involves experience demonstrating developing, delivering, and supporting IT systems and services; Providing/suggesting alternative approaches to IT issues, problems and concern; and Providing various information technology customer services and support. OR Education: One of the following types of education in a related field: a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree. Degree must be in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
